In The Pattern Flight School is the official Light-Sport Aircraft flight training partner of Longhorn Aero. Based at Denton Enterprise Airport [KDTO], In The Pattern offers LSA flight training and rentals that cover transition training, experience building, AC reposition flying, and full Light-Sport Pilot certification. Larry Lenamon II, founder of Longhorn Aero, is a 35 year veteran pilot and aerospace engineer. He currently flies a Boeing “product” for a major US airline. In between moving the heavy metal, Larry zooms around in his bright yellow Van’s RV7A, a “Light-Sport on steroids” as he calls it, and works on his LSA business. The Longhorn Aero hangar is located at Denton Enterprise Airport [KDTO], TX. He is a longtime member of the Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association [AOPA] and Experimental Aircraft Association [EAA] and is actively involved in the local KDTO EAA Chapter 661. Larry is married with three children and resides in the DFW Texas region. A free introductory discovery flight, you say? No way! Yes, way! As part of Longhorn Aero’s mission to introduce kids and adults to the adventure, fun, and freedom of flight, we provide free discovery flights in Larry’s Van’s Aircraft RV7A through the Experimental Aircraft Association [EAA] Young Eagles and Eagle Flight programs. Select between the two program icons below for more info and to schedule a flight for eligible individuals. Launched in 1992, the Young Eagles program has dedicated 29 years to giving youth ages 8–17 their first free ride in an airplane. It’s the only program of its kind, with the sole mission to introduce and inspire kids in the world of aviation. Today, more than 2 million young people have enjoyed a free introductory flight through the Young Eagles program. These flights are made possible through the generosity of EAA member volunteers. Eligibility *-)- Age 8-17 *-)- Never flown in a small, private aircraft before *-)- Expressed an interest in aviation Click below to contact Larry for more details. EAA’s Eagle Flights is a free introductory flight experience and informal mentoring program designed to welcome and encourage adults who want to discover flying, but don’t know how or where to take that first step. It begins with a hands-on introduction, where you’ll fly with a local EAA-member pilot who will let you follow along at the controls of the airplane to get a feel for what being a pilot is all about. After the flight, he or she can help you learn more about how to get involved in your local aviation community, including the next steps you can take on the path to becoming a pilot. The best part? The whole experience is free. No sales. No pressure. Just a whole lot of fun and education with a big take-home point: Your dream of flying is a lot closer than you think. Eligibility *-)- Age 18 or older *-)- Never flown in a small, private aircraft before *-)- Expressed an interest in becoming a pilot Click below to contact Larry for more details.Top Light-Sport Aircraft
